Who We Are

And why an Association?

The idea to form an association came about when we realized that there is a dearth of good advice available and no proper network for us like minded individuals, indulging in this hobby in India.  As a result, some were misguided or were unable to secure good advice and some just left the hobby before they could even get properly introduced to it. This Association of Persons (as per Indian laws), called the 'Fountain Pen Association of India', was formed with a primary objective to promote this hobby and spread awareness about it, and at the same time, to provide a proper, structured network for making available, information and help, in enjoying this fascinating hobby of fountain pens and inks, in India.

FPAI aims to conduct meets, pen exhibitions and events to promote fountain pens all across India.

Fountainhead ~ A Pen, Ink & Paper Exhibit

A Bit of Background

We find great joy in exhibiting fountain pens, inks and papers belonging to our FPAI members. The first edition of 'Fountainhead', held on 7th & 8th of October 2018 at Coomaraswamy Hall, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalay (earlier known as Prince of Wales Museum), Mumbai was a resounding success. The Exhibit witnessed more than 800 individual visitors over two days.
More than 500 fountain pens from across the world were put on display for these two days. Apart from guided tours of the exhibition, FPAI had arranged talks and workshops on many topics related to fountain pens on both the days.

Stay tuned for our announcement about the upcoming edition of 'Fountainhead'.

The 'Fountainhead' is of course not a commercial activity and entry is free to all enthusiasts. Some workshops will need a prior registration.
